DocVault ("the App") respects your privacy. This application is designed to work primarily offline and stores your documents on your device.

Information We Collect

Documents, images, screenshots, and PDFs that you choose to import or scan.
OCR text generated from your documents to enable local search.
App preferences such as theme and settings.

How Your Data Is Used

Organize and search your documents.
Generate searchable text using on-device OCR.
Improve your experience within the app.

Data Storage

All imported documents, OCR results, and metadata are stored locally on your device. The app does not upload your files to our servers.

Permissions

Camera – Scan documents.
Photos/Storage – Import and manage documents.
Notifications (optional) – Document expiry reminders.
Biometric Authentication (optional) – Protect access to the app.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal documents or information with third parties. Documents are only shared when you explicitly use the Share or Export features.

Internet Connection

The core features work offline. If future versions include optional online features (such as cloud backup), they will require your explicit consent.

Security

We recommend protecting your device with a passcode. If enabled, the app can use your device's biometric authentication to restrict access.

Children's Privacy

The app is not directed toward children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices

You may delete documents at any time. Uninstalling the app removes the application; locally stored data may also be removed depending on your device and platform.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available with the app.
