Snake Party is a real-time multiplayer Snake game for private friend lobbies, published by Neukaps ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what control you have over it. It covers the Snake Party mobile app (com.neukaps.snakeparty) and the game server it connects to.
The short version: we collect a display name, a game account identifier, and your match results. We do not collect your contacts, location, photos, files, or advertising identifiers. There are no ads, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party trackers in the app. We do not sell your data.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
Display name (username). The name you type before joining a lobby. It is visible to everyone in that lobby and appears on the end-of-round scoreboard. Pick a nickname rather than your full name if you would rather not be identifiable.
Email address and password — only if you choose to create a registered account instead of playing as a guest. The password is never stored by us in readable form; authentication is handled by Supabase, which stores a salted hash.
Information created by playing
Account identifier. A random ID assigned when you first play, including as an anonymous guest. It is how your match history stays attached to you.
Match results. The room code, when the match was played, how long it lasted, how many players were in it, and each player's score and placement.
Gameplay messages. While a round is running, your device sends direction changes to the server and receives the board state back. These messages are held in memory for the duration of the round and are not written to any database or log of ours.
Information stored only on your device
Your snake colour and skin choice, your solo-game settings, and a locally generated device ID used to restore your seat if you disconnect mid-round. These live in the app's own storage and are removed when you uninstall the app.
What we do not collect
No location data, no contacts, no calendar, no camera or microphone access, no photos or files, no SMS or call logs, no advertising ID, no device fingerprinting, and no behavioural analytics. The Android build requests exactly one permission — INTERNET — because the game is played over a network connection.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.
3. Who can see it
Other players in your lobby. Your display name and score are shown to the people you are playing with. Only people who have your 5-character room code can join.
Players you have played with. Match history and the leaderboard are scoped to matches you took part in. You cannot read results from matches you were not in, and other players cannot read yours.
Service providers. Supabase (authentication and database) and our server host process data on our behalf under their own security commitments. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Legal requests. We may disclose data where we are legally required to, or to protect the safety and rights of users.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
4. Where data is processed
Our database and game server may be hosted in a country other than yours, including the United States. Where data leaves the UK or EEA, transfers rely on the appropriate safeguards under applicable data-protection law, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. How long we keep it
Live game state — held in server memory only, and destroyed the moment the last player leaves the room.
Match results and profile — kept while your account exists, so your history and leaderboard remain meaningful.
Guest accounts — the anonymous account and its results may be deleted after an extended period of inactivity.
On-device settings — kept until you uninstall the app or clear its data.
6. Security
Connections between the app and our services use encrypted transport, and data is encrypted at rest by our database provider. The game server is authoritative: it alone decides where snakes are and who won, so results cannot be forged by a modified client. Access to write match results is restricted to the server. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.
7. Children
Snake Party is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Because a display name is visible to everyone in a lobby, we encourage younger players to use a nickname.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email us at the address below from the email on your account, or include your display name and approximate match dates if you played as a guest.
Change your display name — enter a different one before your next match.
Delete your account and match history — email us and we will action it, normally within 30 days.
Clear device data — uninstall the app, or clear its storage in your device settings.
If you are in the UK or EEA and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local data-protection authority.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will give notice in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated policy.
