01Scope of this policy
This policy explains how the Android application History (package com.neukaps.historyapp, the “App”) handles information. It applies only to this App and not to any website, service, or application operated by anyone else, including pages the App may open in your browser.
By installing and using the App, you agree to the handling of information described here. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.
02Information we collect
Specifically, the App does not collect, request, or transmit:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact details
- Account credentials, because the App has no accounts
- Location data, whether precise or approximate
- Contacts, call logs, SMS messages, photos, or files on your device
- Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or other tracking identifiers
- Usage analytics, crash reports, or behavioural telemetry
- Payment or financial information — the App is free and has no in-app purchases
03Data stored on your device
All history questions, answers, and explanations ship inside the App itself and work offline. A small amount of information is saved locally so the App behaves the way you left it:
- Display preference — whether you chose the light or dark theme.
- Quiz progress — local state such as the topic you last opened and your answers within a practice set.
This information is written to your device’s private app storage. It is not readable by other apps, is never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and is permanently deleted when you clear the App’s data or uninstall the App.
04Permissions the App requests
The App requests a single Android permission:
INTERNET— used only to open external links, such as the App’s Google Play listing when you tap the rate or share option. The App does not need a connection to load questions, and it does not send any data over the network.
The App does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, storage, contacts, or any other sensitive permission.
05Third-party services
The App contains no advertising networks, no analytics SDKs, and no social-media trackers. We do not sell, rent, or share information with third parties, because we hold none.
Links you may open
Tapping a link inside the App may take you out to Google Play or another external site. Once you leave the App, the privacy policy of that destination applies. We are not responsible for the practices of sites we do not operate.

Distribution and installation are handled by Google Play, which collects its own information under Google’s privacy policy, independently of the App. See policies.google.com/privacy.

07Children’s privacy
The App is an educational study aid suitable for all ages and is commonly used by students preparing for SSC, UPSC, RRB, and state-level examinations. Because the App collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either. It contains no advertising, no in-app purchases, and no user-to-user communication.
08Security
The strongest protection available is not to hold your data at all, and that is the approach this App takes. The preferences saved locally are protected by Android’s standard app sandbox, which prevents other applications from reading them. Keeping your device updated and locked with a screen lock further protects anything stored on it.
09Your choices and rights
Since no personal data is collected, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or erase on your behalf. You remain in full control of the data on your device:
- Erase local data: Settings → Apps → History → Storage → Clear data.
- Remove everything: uninstall the App; all locally stored preferences are deleted with it.
If you are covered by a law such as the GDPR or India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the rights it grants apply to personal data a business holds about you. We hold none, so there is no record to access, rectify, port, or delete. You may still write to us with any question at the address below.
10Content and accuracy
Questions, answers, and explanations are compiled from publicly available history material and previous years’ examination papers for study purposes. We work to keep them accurate, but the App is a practice aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the SSC, UPSC, RRB, or any other government body or examination authority. Always verify against official sources and the current syllabus.
11Changes to this policy
If the App’s behaviour changes — for example if a future version adds an optional online feature — this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the effective date at the top of this page will change. Material changes will also be noted in the release notes on the Play Store listing. Reviewing this page occasionally is the best way to stay informed.
